What does U8, U10, or U14 mean?
Teams are formed based on the player's age and not school grade. The U means ’under’ and the player's age must be under the number on August 1st. This is the cutoff date used by AYSA and US Youth Soccer and must be followed by our club in order to remain sanctioned by our leagues.
Age eligibility is determined by a child's birth date. Each player must be under the age of his or her team level by the date of July 31st. For example, a U-12 player must be under the age of 12 by July 31st of the same year. Please check charts below.
Play Up Policy
Due to the July 31 cut off date, there will be certain players whose birthdates technically place them in an age group below that of their classmates or peers. These players may request to "play up".
To "play up" you will need to contact the Director of Coaches and make the request in writing by or before Player Evaluation Day. You will need to make this request every season as we will not assume that you will want your child to play up every year.
Keep in mind that if you child is U8 he/she will be moving up to the U10 group and you will be required to pay the fees the apply to that age group.
